Great Skin is Easy as ABC (and E)

Great Skin is Easy as ABC (and E)

Vitamin C is widely known as a holy grail ingredient in skincare. But do you know what’s better than Vitamin C?

Vitamin C + E together, are even more effective in preventing photodamage than vitamin C alone. And do you know what’s EVEN better than Vitamin C + E?

Vitamins C + E + A, together make up the topical trifecta for healthy, vibrant skin.

Our ABC’s.

What does vitamin C do? Vitamin C promotes collagen production(to firm skin and diminish fine lines); it inhibits melanin production (to brighten and even out skin tone); it helps repair skin damage (by encouraging healthy cell turnover and cell regeneration); and Vitamin C Is an antioxidant, protecting skin cells from damaging free radicals.

What's a free radical?  Free radicals are unstable molecules missing electrons from their outer shell. This makes them search to replace the electrons (to become stable again) and it’s this search for re-bonding that results in the oxidative stress which can damage other cells.

Our skin is vulnerable to several major causes of free radical damage but the biggest culprits are environmental pollution, stress and UV radiation. When continuously bombarded, this triggers lasting effects and a breakdown of collagen and elastin, causing photoaging, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, sagging, dryness, and an uneven skin tone.

Vitamin E + Vitamin C = The Antioxidant Power Couple | Also known as alpha-tocopherol, Vitamin E is also a potent antioxidant critical for protecting against premature skin aging. But importantly, when used simultaneously, vitamin E acts as a stabilizer for vitamin C.

Vitamin A + Vitamin E + Vitamin C = The Topical Trifecta | Vitamin A (Retinoids) reduce fine lines and wrinkles by increasing the production of collagen. They also stimulate the production of new blood vessels in the skin, improving color and fading age spots and softening rough patches of skin. Our Retinol Rescue Overnight Cream incorporates the stress-busting benefits of all three, A, C and E, as well as a damage-repairing peptide (Palmitoyl tripeptide-1) which also helps repair visible skin damage. All while you sleep.

Where is B, you ask? | Niacinamide, a potent form of vitamin B-3, is a powerful anti-ager, helping to stimulate skin’s lipid barrier, balance oil production; minimize pores; and protect the from environmental stressors including sunlight, pollution and toxins. Niacinamide is one of the four ingredients that make up Jasmine Catalyst Complex, which is the fortifying and clarifying base from which all of our products are formulated.

Prevention is Appropriate for All Ages | Since antioxidants like vitamin C, E, A and B help to minimize the amount of sun damage, they works as an effective preventative measure at every stage and so any age will benefit from the long-term protection of these powerhouse ingredients.
